Im doing what?!

Im doing what?!

Guys I am dyinggggg!!!!  I didn’t know when or how to share my exciting news but I think Approach with Coffee is the perfect way to let you all know my news.  This is a off the cuff, random, non structured post but I couldn’t hold it in any longer I needed to tell people!

So Tuesday afternoon I received the most exciting email in work – congratulating me on getting accepted on the “Walk the talk challenge trekking The Great Wall of China!”  Over 640 people put applications in and I was chosen!  This September I will make my way to China with 34 other people that I’ve never met but will hopefully finish the challenge calling friends.  Im petrified but i’m so so ready for a challenge and this will be the biggest most scariest challenging thing i’ve ever done.  If you aren’t familiar with my story please go over to my Anxiety posts and catch up so you understand how much of a challenge this is for me.

I have lots of training to do in readiness for the big trek and I have lots of fund raising to do as well.  Im aiming to raise £4000.00 for Mental Health UK so if you have a spare penny or pound throw it in my direction!

I dont have much information at the moment as I’ve only just found out I was accepted, I want to document the whole experience on here so will share my progress, any fund raising events etc I have planned when I’ve got my head around it all.  At present all I really know is that its this September and its a 5 day trek, I have a launch meeting this month and should have much more information off the back of it, then I know I have a training weekend in June and thats somewhere in the Peak district!

Anyone that knows me well will understand how difficult this is going to be, from travelling on my own with no-one I know, to being in a foreign country with people that don’t understand my triggers or coping methods, down to trekking all them bloody miles each day and being the only person in China that doesn’t like Chinese food!  But I’m determined to absolutely smash this trek!

For anyone that is able and wants to sponsor me you can do so by clicking here or you can text; MHUK86 £2 to 70070 and that will add £2 onto your phone bill as a one off donation.

Watch this space for further updates and my training progress – my Fitbit won’t know whats hit it!!  I am terrified and excited all at the same time, I feel like this is going to be a life changing experience for me!

Thank you in advance to anyone thats able to sponsor me, if you aren’t able to donate sharing my Justgiving page on social media will help reach others and I would really appreciate that.

    Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.

    Regards
